Live India): The Day 266 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 266 day of India’s
Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.
As per the
Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 15/12/2020, there are 339820
active cases, 9422636 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 143709 persons
lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 14/12/2020.
On the testing of
the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 15/12/2020 that a total
of 15,55,60,655 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 14/12/2020. Further,
the ICMR reported that 9,93,665 new samples were taken during the
last 24 hours.
The Following is
the List of Actions/ announcements made by the Government of India along with
Updates from Indian Courts of law, NHRC, RBI, SEBI, TRAI & IRDA on 15/12/2020
1. The Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare issued Updates on COVID-19
2. The Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare released the National
Family Health Survey-5 wherein It was revealed that the Total Fertility Rates
(TFR) has further declined since NFHS-4 in almost all the Phase-1 States and
UTs. The replacement level of fertility (2.1) has been achieved in 19 out of
the 22 States/UTs and only 3 states viz. Manipur (2.2), Meghalaya (2.9) and
Bihar (3.0) have TFR above replacement levels now.

4.The Ministry of
Finance announced Tariff Notification
No. 112/2020-Customs (N.T.) in respect of Fixation of Tariff Value of Edible
Oils, Brass Scrap, Poppy Seeds, Areca Nut, Gold and Silver
5 The Ministry
of Finance stated
that Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman chairs 23rd Meeting of the Financial Stability and
Development Council
6. The Ministry of
Agriculture & Farmers Welfare claimed
that Paddy procurement for Kharif 2020-21 is continuing smoothly in the
procuring States & UTs of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana,
Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Gujarat,
Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar
with purchase of over 380.18 LMTs of paddy up to 14.12.2020 against the last
year corresponding purchase of 314.42 LMT showing an increase of 20.91 % over
last year. Out of the total purchase of 380.18 LMT, Punjab alone has
contributed 202.77 LMT which is 53.33% of total procurement.
7.The Ministry of Commerce & Industry released India’s overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in
April-November 2020-21 data, wherein it was stated that India’s overall exports
are estimated to be USD 304.25 Billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-)
14.03per cent over the same period last year. Overall imports in April-November
2020-21* are estimated to be USD 290.66Billion, exhibiting a negative growth of
(-) 29.96per cent over the same period last year.
8.The Ministry of Commerce & Industry stated that
Industry & Government have to partner to ensure that we reach our $5
trillion targets by 2025
9.The Ministry of Commerce & Industry stated
that during the April-September period, FDI inflows are at $40 billion, which
has been higher than last year by about 13%. Last year, we announced one of the
most attractive tax rates available anywhere in the world at 22% tax for
businesses in India and 15% tax for new manufacturing facilities set up after
October 2019
10.The Reserve Bank of India placed on its website a
Working Paper titled “Asset Quality and Credit Channel of Monetary Policy

13.The Reserve Bank of India today released
the data showing daily merchant and inter-bank transactions in foreign exchange
for the period September 28 - October 01, 2020.
