New Delhi (ABC Live India): The Day 273 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 273 day of India’s Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 22/12/2020, there are 292518 active cases, 9636487 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 146111 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 22/12/2020.

On the testing of the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 22/12/2020 that a total of 16,31,70,557 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 21/12/2020. Further, the ICMR reported that 10,72,228 new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

New Delhi (ABC Live India): The Day 272 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 272 day of India’s Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 21/12/2020, there are 303639 active cases, 9606111COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 145810 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 21/12/2020.

On the testing of the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 21/12/2020 that a total of 16,20,98,329 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 20/12/2020. Further, the ICMR reported that 9,00,134 new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

3.    The Ministry of Finance stated that it has released the 8th weekly installment of Rs. 6,000 crore to the States to meet the GST compensation shortfall. Out of this, an amount of Rs. 5,516.60 crore has been released to 23 States and an amount of Rs. 483.40 crore has been released to the 3 Union Territories (UT) with Legislative Assembly (Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir & Puducherry) who are members of the GST Council. The remaining 5 States, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Sikkim do not have a gap in revenue on account of GST implementation.

4.    The Ministry of Civil Aviation stated that all flights originating from The U.K into India will be suspended temporarily from 22nd December to 31st December 2020. He stated that the Government of India has decided to take all necessary precautions as a result of the situation arising out of the spread of a new strain of Coronavirus in some countries.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 17/12/2020, there are 322366 active cases, 9489740 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 144451 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 17/12/2020.
On the testing of the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 17/12/2020 that a total of 15,78,05,240 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 17/12/2020. Further, the ICMR reported that 11,58,960 new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

7.    The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare stated that In the light of public concern over high prices of onion in the market, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has decided to extend the relaxation from the condition of fumigation and additional declaration on Phytosanitary Certificate as per the Plant Quarantine Order, 2003, for imports up to 31st January 2021. The relaxation will be subject to certain conditions.

8.    The Ministry of Law and Justice stated that A total number of 8152 Benches were constituted by 31 SLSAs to conduct the National Lok Adalat. It was successful in disposing of 10,42,816 cases. Out of the total cases disposed of 5,60,310cases were at the pre-litigation stage and 4,82,506 cases were those which were pending in the courts. The details, as provided by states on the NALSA portal, indicate that the settlement amount was nearly ₹3227.99 Cr.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 16/12/2020, there are 332002 active cases, 9456449 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 144096 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 16/12/2020.

5.    The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved assistance of about Rs. 3,500 crore for sugarcane farmers (Ganna Kisan). 

6.    The Ministry of Finance stated that the Government of India and the World Bank today signed a $400 million project to support India’s efforts at providing social assistance to the poor and vulnerable households, severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the second operation in a programmatic series of two. The first operation of $750 million was approved in May 2020. The programme will strengthen the capability of state and national governments in India to provide coordinated and adequate social protection to the poor and vulnerable from the shocks triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

7.    The Ministry of Finance stated that the Government of India and the New Development Bank (NDB) today signed a loan agreement for lending $1,000 million for ‘supporting India’s economic recovery from COVID-19’ by supporting expenditures on rural infrastructure related to natural resource management (NRM) and rural employment generation under Government of India’s Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).   

8.    The Ministry of Finance stated that the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has extended the deadline for the States to complete citizen-centric reforms in various sectors. Now, if the recommendation from the nodal Ministry concerned regarding implementation of the reform is received by 15th February 2021, the State will be eligible for reform linked benefits.                         

9.    The Ministry of Education stated that the JEE (Main) Examination- 2021 will be conducted in four sessions in the month of February, March, April and May 2021. The first session of JEE (Main) 2021 will be held from February 23rd - 26th, 2021

Out of the total purchase of 380.18 LMT, Punjab alone has contributed 202.77 LMT which is 53.33% of total procurement.

7.The Ministry of Commerce & Industry released India’s overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in April-November 2020-21 data, wherein it was stated that India’s overall exports are estimated to be USD 304.25 Billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-) 14.03per cent over the same period last year. Overall imports in April-November 2020-21* are estimated to be USD 290.66Billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-) 29.96per cent over the same period last year.
