Delhi (ABC Live India): The Day 277 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 277 day
of India’s Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.
As
per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 26/12/2020, there
are 281667 active cases, 9740108 COVID-19
patients have been discharged and 147343 persons lost their lives in India till
8 AM of 26/12/2020.
On
the testing of the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 26/12/2020
that a total of 16,71,59,289 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 25/12/2020.
Further, the ICMR reported that 8,53,527 new samples were taken during the last
24 hours.

The Prime
Minister's Office stated that Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi will flag off the 100th Kisan Rail from Sangola in
Maharashtra to Shalimar in West Bengal on 28th December 2020 at 4:30 PM via
video conferencing.
- The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued Updates on COVID-19
- The Ministry of Finance stated that Rajasthan has become the 6th State in the country to successfully undertake “Ease of Doing Business” reform stipulated by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. Thus, the State has become eligible to mobilise additional financial resources of Rs. 2,731 crore through Open Market Borrowings. Permission for the same was issued by the Department of Expenditure on 24th December, 2020. Rajasthan has now joined the five other States namely, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, who have achieved this feat. On completion of reforms facilitating ease of doing business, these six States have been granted additional borrowing permission of Rs.19,459 crore.

- The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare stated that Paddy procurement for Kharif 2020-21 is continuing smoothly in the procuring States & UTs of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pardesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal with purchase of over 449.83 LMTs of paddy up to 25.12.2020 against the last year corresponding purchase of 360.09 LMT showing an increase of 24.91 % over last year. Out of the total purchase of 449.83 LMT, Punjab alone has contributed 202.77 LMT which is 45.07% of total procurement.
