Report of COVID-19: Today was the 274 day of India’s Fight against Coronavirus:
ABC Research Report.
As per the Ministry of Health and
Family welfare till 8 AM of 23/12/2020, there are 289240 active cases, 9663382
COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 146444 persons lost their lives in
India till 8 AM of 23/12/2020.
On the testing of the capacity of India,
the ICMR in its daily report on 23/12/2020 that a total of 16,42,68,721 have
been conducted in India till 9 AM of 22/12/2020. Further, the ICMR reported
that 10,98,164 new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

The Prime Minister's Office stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will
release the next installment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan
Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) on 25th December 2020 at 12 noon via video
conferencing. With the push of a button, the Prime Minister will enable the
transfer of more than Rs. 18,000 crores to more than 9 crores beneficiary
farmer families.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that Union
Health Secretary reviewed the status of passengers coming from the UK to India and
found positive in the States/UTs of
Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Goa, Punjab,
Gujarat and Kerala and their response measures in a meeting held through Video
Conferencing today.

The Cabinet
Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) stated that the Cabinet has
approved a total investment of Rs. 59,048 Cr of which Central Government would
spend Rs. 35,534 Cr (60%) and the balance would be spent by the State Govts.
This replaces the existing 'committed liability' system and brings greater
involvement of the Central Govt in this crucial scheme.
