The Day 281 COVID-19 Report of India


 

New Delhi (ABC Live India): The Day 281 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 281 day of India’s Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 30/12/2020, there are 262272 active cases, 9834141 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 148439 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 30/12/2020.

On the testing of the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 30/12/2020 that a total of 17,09,22,030 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 29/12/2020. Further, the ICMR reported that 11,20,281 new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

The Following is the List of Actions/ announcements made by the Government of India along with Updates from Indian Courts of law, NHRC, RBI, SEBI, TRAI & IRDA on 30/12/2020

  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued Updates on COVID-19
  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released the communication strategy that supports the COVID-19 vaccines rollout in India seeks to disseminate timely, accurate and transparent information about the vaccine(s) to alleviate apprehensions about the vaccine, ensure its acceptance and encourage uptake
  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated The Health Ministry has recommended to the Ministry of Civil Aviation the extension of the temporary suspension of flights originating from UK into India to be further extended till 7th January (Thursday), 2021.
  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated Total of 20 persons have been found with the mutant variant of SARS- CoV-2 virus reported from UK. These include the six persons reported earlier (3 in NIMHANS, Bengaluru, 2 in CCMB, Hyderabad and 1 in NIV, Pune)
  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released its 2020 ACHIEVEMENTS
  • The ICMR issued testing Updates of India for 29/12/2020
  • The Ministry of Finance stated that In view of the challenges faced by taxpayers in meeting the statutory and regulatory compliances due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Government brought the Taxation and Other Laws (Relaxation of Certain Provisions) Ordinance, 2020 (‘the Ordinance’) on 31st March, 2020 which, inter alia, extended various time limits. The Ordinance has since been replaced by the Taxation and Other Laws (Relaxation and Amendment of Certain Provisions) Act.
  • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved proposals of Department of Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT) for construction of various trunk infrastructure components and these projects will generate ample employment opportunities through industrialisation. For Krishnapatnam node, estimated employment projection on completion of the first phase of development is likely to be around 98,000 persons of which about 58,000 persons are likely to be employed at the site. For Tumakuru node, employment of about 88,500 persons is estimated, out of which 17,700 persons will be from service industries such as retail, offices and other commercial opportunities in the initial development phase.
  • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs stated that Sugarcane farmers have benefited in the past six years as the capacity of molasses based distilleries has more than doubled and is currently at 426 crore litres
  • The Ministry of Finance stated that Odisha has become the 7th State in the country to successfully undertake “Ease of Doing Business” reform stipulated by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. Thus, the State has become eligible to mobilise additional financial resources of Rs. 1,429 crore through Open Market Borrowings. Permission for the same was issued by the Department of Expenditure on 30th December, 2020. Odisha has now joined the six other States namely, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, who have completed this reform. On completion of reforms facilitating Ease of Doing Business (EODB), these six States have been granted additional borrowing permission of Rs. 20,888 crore.

  • The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare stated that in the 6th round of talks with the representatives of farmers Shri Tomar assured the Farmers’ Unions leaders that government is committed to solving farmers’ problems and both sides need to take steps forward to arrive at an amicable solution. The next round of talks will take place on 4th of January 2021.  Agriculture Minister appealed to Farmers’ Unions to end the agitation so that women, children and elders can return home.
