The Day 266 COVID-19 Report of India




New Delhi (ABC Live India): The Day 266 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 266 day of India’s Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 15/12/2020, there are 339820 active cases, 9422636 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 143709 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 14/12/2020.

On the testing of the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 15/12/2020 that a total of 15,55,60,655 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 14/12/2020. Further, the ICMR reported that 9,93,665 new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

2.  The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released the National Family Health Survey-5 wherein It was revealed that the Total Fertility Rates (TFR) has further declined since NFHS-4 in almost all the Phase-1 States and UTs. The replacement level of fertility (2.1) has been achieved in 19 out of the 22 States/UTs and only 3 states viz. Manipur (2.2), Meghalaya (2.9) and Bihar (3.0) have TFR above replacement levels now.

6. The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare claimed that Paddy procurement for Kharif 2020-21 is continuing smoothly in the procuring States & UTs of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar with purchase of over 380.18 LMTs of paddy up to 14.12.2020 against the last year corresponding purchase of 314.42 LMT showing an increase of 20.91 % over last year. Out of the total purchase of 380.18 LMT, Punjab alone has contributed 202.77 LMT which is 53.33% of total procurement.

7.The Ministry of Commerce & Industry released India’s overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in April-November 2020-21 data, wherein it was stated that India’s overall exports are estimated to be USD 304.25 Billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-) 14.03per cent over the same period last year. Overall imports in April-November 2020-21* are estimated to be USD 290.66Billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-) 29.96per cent over the same period last year.

8.The Ministry of Commerce & Industry stated that Industry & Government have to partner to ensure that we reach our $5 trillion targets by 2025

9.The Ministry of Commerce & Industry stated that during the April-September period, FDI inflows are at $40 billion, which has been higher than last year by about 13%. Last year, we announced one of the most attractive tax rates available anywhere in the world at 22% tax for businesses in India and 15% tax for new manufacturing facilities set up after October 2019

4. The Ministry of Finance stated that Finance Minister Smt. NirmalaSitharaman reviews implementation of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Package with Secretaries of all Ministries/Departments concerned. Also, it is shared that the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued refunds of over Rs 1,45,619 crore to more than 89.29 lakh taxpayers between 1st April 2020 and 8th December 2020. Income Tax refunds of Rs. 43,274 crore have been issued in 87,29,626 cases & corporate tax refunds of Rs. 1,02,345 crore have been issued in 1,99,554 cases.

5. The Ministry of Railways clarified that permission given to Zonal Railways to issue unreserved tickets is meant ONLY for suburban and limited no of local passenger trains operating on few zones

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare stated that Upto 12.12.2020, the Government through its Nodal Agencies has procured154423.46MT of Moong, Urad, Groundnut Pods, and Soyabean having MSP value of Rs. 829.57 Crores benefitting 87024 farmers in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, and Rajasthan.

Further, she stated that So far capital expenditure proposals of Rs. 9,879.61 crores of 27 States have been approved by the Ministry of Finance.  An amount of Rs. 4,939.81 crore has already been released to the States as the first installment under the scheme.
