Live India): The Day 267 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 267 day of India’s
Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.
As per the
Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 16/12/2020, there are 332002
active cases, 9456449 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 144096 persons
lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 16/12/2020.
On the testing of
the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 16/12/2020 that a total
of 15,66,46,280 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 15/12/2020. Further,
the ICMR reported that 10,85,625 new samples were taken during the
last 24 hours.
The Following is
the List of Actions/ announcements made by the Government of India along with
Updates from Indian Courts of law, NHRC, RBI, SEBI, TRAI & IRDA on 16/12/2020
1. The Ministry of Health and Family

2. The ICMR issued testing Updates of India for 15/12/2020

3. The ICMR stated that till date, 313 RT-PCR kits have been evaluated by
ICMR validation centres, and the following were found to be satisfactory
4. The PIB did not release its Daily COVID-19 bolection
today.
5. The Cabinet Committee on
Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved assistance of
about Rs. 3,500 crore for sugarcane farmers (Ganna Kisan).
6. The Ministry of Finance
stated that the Government of India and the
World Bank today signed a $400 million project to support India’s efforts at
providing social assistance to the poor and vulnerable households, severely
impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the second operation in a
programmatic series of two. The first operation of $750 million was approved in
May 2020. The programme will strengthen the capability of state and national
governments in India to provide coordinated and adequate social protection to
the poor and vulnerable from the shocks triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
7. The Ministry of Finance
stated
that the Government of India and the New Development Bank (NDB) today signed a
loan agreement for lending $1,000 million for ‘supporting India’s economic
recovery from COVID-19’ by supporting expenditures on rural infrastructure
related to natural resource management (NRM) and rural employment generation
under Government of India’s Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee
Scheme (MGNREGS).
8. The Ministry of Finance stated
that the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has extended the
deadline for the States to complete citizen-centric reforms in various sectors.
Now, if the recommendation from the nodal Ministry concerned regarding
implementation of the reform is received by 15th February 2021, the State will
be eligible for reform linked benefits.
9. The Ministry of Education
stated that the JEE (Main) Examination- 2021
will be conducted in four sessions in the month of February, March, April and
May 2021. The first session of JEE (Main) 2021 will be held from February 23rd
- 26th, 2021
10. The Reserve Bank announced
opening of Second Cohort under the Regulatory Sandbox

SOP on collection & processing of scientific/forensic evidence in case of
sexual assault on women to ensure effective prosecution leading to the conviction
